Attending a Indian marriage means lots of fun, masti, outfit changes, dance, food, emotions and colorful. And my last week was like this. I was to attend a marriage and it happened between two cities, Kakinada and Rajahmundry. I had to pack really good this time, planning all my outfits before hand for every occasion. It was a task, which I did pretty well. And I can assure you, I didn’t have to splurge on my outfits to look stylish.
So you too can stun everybody with your outfits, without spending much and all outfits curated right from your wardrobe. Here are some tips that will be handy, when you want to look flawless at your bestie’s wedding, but on budget.
How To Look Stylishly Gorgeous At Your Bestie’s Wedding
Opt for Suit set
Suit sets are stocked in everyone’s wardrobe in abundance. They come handy when in doubt and looks good as well. Suits comes with whole matching dupatta and is a safe choice to wear at any wedding ritual. Bright and colorful suits are good option for mehandi occasions. I choose to wear this beautiful green colour suit pairing with white colour legging (It didn’t come with a matching pant). My favourite part in this outfit is white embroidery running all over the suit. It doesn’t prick your eyes as some bright colours do but also brings you attention.
Added a pearl earrings, silver rings, my favourite fastrack watch and bindi to the look. As for the makeup, I didn’t do a lot. Only eyeliner and a lip pencil. The whole point was to let the dress do the talking.
Breezy Dupattas To Brighten Up
Dupattas play as many roles as we women. Not only a piece of clothing but also cover up under the scorching sun or to enter a worship place. It also works as an accessory as well. Dupattas can be paired with different outfits and create new ensembles. Because dupatta is multi-coloured and also highlight of the outfit, it makes sense when paired with solid kurta like – here I wore a khadi kurti in cream colour as the humidity in Kakinada is no joke. Pairing it with bright yellow legging to stay in the theme of the occasion. A complete bright, festive and smart look from wardrobe.
Here is a tip for you guys – always pair bright colours with neutrals to balance out the look. For accessories, wore jhumkaas, multi colour thread bangles, rings and watch from the previous look and yellow bindi. Ethnic look is incomplete without bindi. Love the way this whole look has come out when put together. Really inexpensive, still gorgeous for haldi occasions.
Get it stitched…Easy Peasy!
Then comes shaadi….when it comes to shaadi……there are so many options nowadays….still my heart beats only for sarees. Some how the woman looks so beautiful in saree. It makes her look graceful, elegant and sexy all at same time. Wore this beautiful floral printed bright pink saree bought from a local store in a very affordable price. Bought this beautiful cream embroidered fabric, and masterji gave it the avatar as I planned. To add more glam, I added these beautiful stone studded earrings and braclets along with bindi. Totally nailed my wedding guest look with this outfit.
Raid your Nani’s wardrobe
All of us have old outfits and we can’t wear it again because you know, Instagram pe already picture post kar di hai! But what if you can do this, trying to mix and match. Pick a skirt from a lehenga, pair it with a saree blouse and dupatta from other lehenga or cousin. You get what I mean?
Now I raided my nani’s wardrobe and found this really gorgeous pink lehenga of hers. And surprisingly it was perfect fit to me. Right then and there, I paired the Nani’s lehenga blouse with my mint coloured skirt. Both are completely different from each other and still looks awesome with each other. That’s the fun about mix and match. Also, it looks perfect for the Indo-western outfit theme for the reception. That’s how I created another outfit like that…easy peasy!
Am so happy mixing and experimenting with styles that I have never worn before and getting out of comfort zone. As for accessories, I chose to wear studs, choker, a big rose flower studded braclet, my favourite rings and Fastrack watch.
Now you know how to slay while keeping your bank balance in check! That’s how I curated all my outfits. Planning in advance all my outfits helped increase my confidence knowing that I was comfortable in each outfit and can have fun to heart’s content. So get ready for wedding this season in different and experimental attires. I am more active on Instagram where you can see more of me. Follow me there for more interaction and you can thank me later.
